NAGRA Demonstrates 4K Security, User Experience and Multiscreen Technologies Driving Pay-TV Transformation at the 2015 CES Show
At the 2015 International CES Show, NAGRA, the Kudelski Group’s (SIX:KUD.S) digital TV business and the world's leading independent provider of content protection and multiscreen television solutions, will showcase the latest technologies that help pay-TV service providers bring innovative 4K entertainment and value-added services to their subscribers at the Venetian San Polo Meeting Rooms 3601A and B in Las Vegas, from January 6 to 9, 2015. Demonstrations will include immersive 4K user experiences and 4K content protection along with multiscreen and OTT technologies for the connected and smart home.
"The pay-TV transformation is happening now and there has never been a more exciting time to be a part of this industry to help service providers adapt to new consumer viewing patterns and deliver premium entertainment to every screen,” said Ivan Verbesselt, SVP Group Marketing for NAGRA. "CES provides the perfect backdrop to showcase how service providers can leverage new 4K and OTT technologies to create innovative next generation platforms to grow their offering, their subscriber base, and their business while meeting new requirements from content owners.”
NAGRA’s CES 2015 showcase will feature the following areas:
Entertainment Designed: UI/UEX Managed Services
This extensive UI showcase demonstrates how service providers can develop a compelling UI strategy with a full line-up of products for SD, HD and 4K TV screen resolutions as well as other devices, designed and developed by the NAGRA UI/UEX Studio. A variety of our UIs will be on display including the latest UI for 4K Ultra HD, Gravity Evolution, which leverages the upscaling capability of the TV to deliver a stunning experience in a hybrid HD-4K environment.
Entertainment Protected: Content Security
The NAGRA anyCAST Security Services Platform allows any service provider to protect the delivery of any content over any network to any device. This year’s showcase features NAGRA anyCAST COMMAND, the world’s first conditional access solution designed specifically to meet the enhanced security requirements for premium 4K content, pre-integrated in a SmarDTV set-top box. NAGRA anyCAST is based on NAGRA’s holistic Media Risk Management approach, which brings together NAGRA’s expertise in content protection and Kudelski Security’s leading cybersecurity and anti-piracy services to provide 360-degree protection of an operator’s media business.
Entertainment Accelerated: Device Innovation
NAGRA’s QuickStart pre-integrated packages give service providers a quick and easy way to deploy or upgrade their pay-TV platform, using a range of innovative devices by SmarDTV. SmarDTV will also present its latest 4K capable 8-tuner satellite gateway, incorporating a wireless access point that enables whole home PVR and OTT delivery to an array of thin client devices. The gateway leverages anyCAST COMMAND, and comes pre-integrated with NAGRA’s Hollywood-approved anyCAST PRM, OpenTV 5 HTML5 connectware and the MediaLive multiscreen service platform, making it the ideal choice for operators launching 4K.
Entertainment Shared: OTT, Multiscreen & Cloud
This showcase focuses on how pay-TV service providers can embrace and leverage OTT to create new competitive subscription models and value-added services with a seamless cross-device TV experience. Advanced features like nPVR powered by the MediaLive multiscreen solution and versatile MediaLive Secure Player can be deployed as an on-premise platform or as a managed Cloud TV service.
Entertainment Deployed: Connected & Smart Home
Powered by NAGRA’s 4K-ready OpenTV 5 connectware, the NAGRA Connected Home solution enables live TV, VOD, catch-up, start-over, follow-me, multiscreen & OTT, games and applications across multiple screens, supported by NAGRA’s JoinIn reference architecture. It also features new smart home services integrated into the TV experience.
