Always striving to exceed the world's expectations, Mazda continues to redefine the automotive industry with truly distinct technologies like Mazda SKYACTIV. The technology is made up of the engine, transmission, body and chassis innovations that virtually revolutionize the way cars perform and people drive. Creating vehicles with smoother shifting, lighter but stronger bodies, more fuel-conscious engines and sleeker designs, Mazda has built an army of vehicles prepared to take on anything the road throws at them.

The Mazda SKYACTIV engine is available in two forms, a gasoline and a diesel. The gasoline engine, SKYACTIV-G, is equipped with the technology to produce the industry-leading 14.0:1 compression ratio, which means cars will produce 15 percent more torque while gaining 15 percent better fuel efficiency. The diesel engine, SKYACTIV-D, provides the same compression ratio, which allows cars equipped with the technology to earn 20 percent more efficiency and power overall.

Also part of the SKYACTIV suite are the two powerful transmission options, the automatic SKYACTIV-Drive and the manual SKYACTIV-MT. Providing better responsiveness and cleaner fuel consumption, the transmissions bring Mazda's goal of all-around stronger and smarter cars to fruition. The automaker didn't stop under the hood with its ingenuity. It also created SKYACTIV-Body and -Chassis reducing each car's weight by 14 percent, adding 30 percent more rigidity, and creating much more agile vehicles overall.
