Lindab International AB :Lindab invests in new distribution centre for Northern Europe in Grevie

Lindab has decided to invest in an 8,000 sq. m large distribution centre to be located adjacent to the existing production unit in Grevie, Southern Sweden.
The initiative is in line with Lindab's strategy to streamline workflow from purchase to distribution to the customer. With a highly effective and automated distribution centre where big volumes are handled cost-effectively, the customer will benefit from better availability and faster deliveries, both directly from the factory and through the branch system. By means of having a more optimised working capital, opportunities arise to broaden the range and to create more enhanced offerings to Lindab's customers.

Lindab's President and CEO Anders Berg commented:

"The Nordics is our largest sales region and having a highly efficient distribution centre adjacent to our existing production facility here in Grevie is a cornerstone for our continued development. It is fully in line with our strategy to tie up less capital and provide even more services to our customers, big and small.

We see an increasing trend in small and frequent orders and it is important to satisfy our customers' demands in the best possible way. With the new distribution centre, we can increase the throughput of products as well as develop our profitable growth.

We see this as a big and important step in strengthening our distribution to customers -to create a centre for distribution with a focus on the entire flow where the factories' role moving forward becomes one more of distinct producers, while the distribution centre handles the deliveries to the customers and our extensive branch system."

The new distribution centre will be fully operational in 2017 and will become a central hub of Lindab's logistics.
