L-3 Communications Announces Appointment of Kevin Mallon as President of Electron Technologies, Inc.

L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today thatKevin Mallon has been named president of its Electron Technologies,Inc. (L-3 ETI) subsidiary located in Torrance, CA. In his newposition, Mr. Mallon will report to James Benham, who oversees theElectron, Microwave, and Power Device Products area within the L-3Products Group. The L-3 Products Group operates under the leadershipof president and chief operating officer Charles J. Schafer.

With over 23 years of engineering leadership and technicalexperience, Mr. Mallon began his career with ETI in 1982, holdingvarious positions of increasing responsibility before joining SpaceSystems/Loral in 1996. In 2001, he rejoined ETI as director ofstrategic development and chief scientist and was subsequentlypromoted to deputy general manager in 2002.

Mr. Mallon received a Bachelor of Science degree in ElectricalEngineering from Loyola Marymount University.
