HealthSouth Q3 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - HealthSouth Corp. (HLS) Monday reported third-quarter profit of $52.5 or $0.58 per share, up from $41.4 or $0.43 per share in the same period last year.

On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.41 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Income from continuing operations totaled $73.2 million or $0.59 per share, up from $60.4 million or $0.44 per share last year.

Operating revenues improved 5 percent to $564.0 million from $537.0 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $557.44 million.

Looking ahead, the company has raised its full-year guidance for earnings from continuing operations to a range of $3.06 to $3.09 per share, up from its previous guidance range of $2.87 to $2.93 per share. Analysts currently expect full-year earnings of $1.82 per share.
