Hartford Q3 Profit Surges - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - The Hartford (HIG) Monday said third-quarter net income was $293 million or $0.60 per share, compared to $13 million or $0.01 per share in the same period last year.

Core earnings for the quarter increased to $505 million or $1.03 per share from $433 million or $0.90 per share in the prior year quarter.

On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.83 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues totaled $5.64 billion, down from $6.33 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $4.87 billion.
