Harris Receives $45 Mln In Orders For Army's MET Program
(RTTNews) - Harris Corp. (HRS) Monday said it has received $45 million in delivery orders for advanced satellite communications terminals under the U.S. Army's Modernization of Enterprise Terminals or MET program.
According to the company, the next-generation military satellite communications terminals will provide the worldwide backbone for high-priority military communications and missile defense systems.
Harris is the prime contractor for the MET IDIQ contract, which was awarded in 2009 and has a ceiling value of $800 million. This includes a five-year base period and a five-year option period for production, as well as installation, depot and engineering services to support fielding of the terminals.
The latest order brings the total MET orders Harris has been awarded to about $450 million.
Under this latest order, the company will supply additional terminals, including large fixed X-/Ka-band terminals and small fixed X-/Ka-band terminals.
