MINNEAPOLIS, April 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- RedBrick Health, the market-leading consumer health engagement platform and well-being solutions company, announced that Gary Smithson, M.D., has joined its leadership team as chief medical officer.

Dr. Smithson is a board-certified pediatrician and accomplished health care executive with over 30 years of business and clinical experience. Dr. Smithson has previously served as senior consultant at both Willis Towers Watson and Deloitte Consulting, and brings in-depth experience designing and demonstrating the value of employer-based well-being programs, including cost and quality transparency. He brings expertise in collaborative provider-focused care models, including accountable care organizations and patient-centered medical homes.

"We're delighted to welcome Gary to our leadership team," said Dan Ryan, chief executive officer at RedBrick. Dr. Smithson added, "I am thrilled to be joining the RedBrick team. RedBrick is in an incredibly strong position to lead the well-being industry's next stage of evolution. They have built a large, diverse and growing client base that benefits from their highly scalable and integrative engagement platform, as well as the industry's most behaviorally effective concierge-style coaching platform." He continued, "They have developed an extensive database stewarded by a seasoned data science team, and I am very impressed with the publication of their rigorous, industry-leading research on what works and what doesn't."

Jeff Dobro, M.D., who joined RedBrick as its first chief medical officer in 2012, will serve as chairman of the newly formed RedBrick Innovation Advisory Board. "I'm excited to chair the RedBrick Innovation Advisory Board so that we can continue to advance our strategies with the help of a select group of industry leaders. And I'm equally excited to pass the baton to Dr. Smithson, who will serve our clients, consumers and clinical teams exceptionally well through the next phase of RedBrick's growth and development."
