Episcopal Community Services' Victoria Bennett Will Be Part of a Panel on Empowering Fathers at the Child Welfare League of America 2018 National Conference
PHILADELPHIA, April 27, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Victoria R. Bennett, MHS, Chief Inclusion and Advocacy Officer at Episcopal Community Services of Philadelphia, will be part of a panel at this weekend's Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) 2018 National Conference in Washington, DC.
The panel will focus on the topic of "Including Fathers in Service Delivery to Children and Families to Ensure Their Well-Being." The session will be held Saturday, April 28, as part of a Fatherhood Engagement Training Institute curriculum designed to provide educators, researchers and other human service practitioners with strategies to help empower fathers to be a committed, reliable, positive force in the lives of their children and families.
"It's an honor to be part of this prestigious panel," said Ms. Bennett. "It's important to encourage fathers to be actively involved in their children's growth and development. It's an aspect that too often has been under-emphasized or overlooked in family support services strategies."
Ms. Bennett's panel will be led and moderated Dr. Rufus Sylvester Lynch, ACSW, Chair of the Strong Families Commission, which oversees accreditation social service agencies seeking certification as a Father Friendly Flagship Agency (3FA). As a Senior Fellow at the Stoneleigh Foundation, Dr. Lynch was the principal investigator for the 3FA project, which entails a comprehensive, multi-year certification process for agencies looking to include fathers in their delivery models in order to improve the emotional, social, physical, intellectual, spiritual and financial well-being of the children they serve.
On January 11, 2018, Ms. Bennett and several other staff members represented ECS at a 3FA Commencement, where ECS was one of several agencies to be awarded certification and participate in a panel discussion of the impact of the 3FA project on the agency.
