Avnet Partners with Local Companies to Help Valley Military Families Reach Loved Ones Overseas

Valley military families missing their loved ones serving overseas have an opportunity to give them a glimpse of home during the holidays, thanks to four local companies. For the fourth year in a row, Avnet, Inc., Arizona Corporate Broadcast Center (AZCBC), Modavox and On Scene Productions will help military families record a free five-minute video message on Sat., Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Arizona Corporate Broadcast Center, in Phoenix. Time slots are open to the public but will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis; interested families should email Elisha Davis at elisha.davis@avnet.com to schedule a 15-minute session, which includes preparation time as well as taping the five-minute message. Refreshments will also be served. "Watching families large and small participate during previous years has been a joy, and we hope to include more families than ever this year.” Taped in the AZCBC’s state-of-the-art broadcast studio by On Scene Productions’ professional video crew to ensure outstanding lighting and sound quality, each family will receive a DVD from the AZCBC to be sent to its troop deployed overseas. Modavox will also host the video messages on its Web site and provide the families with individual links to share with their troops and anyone else who might want to view the messages.
