American Express Names Kim Goodman Executive Vice President, Merchant Services North America

American Express today announced the appointment of Kim Goodman to the position of Executive Vice President, Merchant Services North America, based in New York City. Ms. Goodman will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Company’s relationships with merchants that accept the American Express Card in the United States and Canada, including acquiring new merchants and deepening relationships across the American Express merchant network. In this newly created role, Ms. Goodman will lead the Merchant Services North America Executive Team to penetrate industries new to plastic acceptance and enhance overall merchant satisfaction. She will join the Senior Management Team of American Express Company and will report to Bill Glenn, who recently assumed worldwide responsibility for American Express Global Merchant Services. Ms. Goodman brings significant experience to her new position, including successful roles in leading business-to-business operations and sales at Dell Inc. Her most recent position as the head of Dell’s $5B Software & Peripherals business included overall responsibility for product marketing, vendor management and pricing. Ms. Goodman began her career at Bain & Company, Inc. working with telecommunications and media clients as a partner and vice president. A native of Chicago, Ms. Goodman, 42, earned both a Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Science at Stanford University, and a Masters in Business Administration at Harvard Business School.
