After-market Movers For May 12 (DTV, RAX, HALO, MCK, RDEN)

DIRECTV (DTV) gained 6 percent to $92.80 amidst reports that AT&T Inc. (T) is in advanced talks to acquire the company for about $100 per share or about $50 billion.

Rackspace Hosting, Inc. (RAX) rose 12 percent to $30.97 as the company's first quarter results were above analysts' expectations. The company forecast quarter-over-quarter sequential net revenue growth of 3 percent to 4.5 percent.

Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. (HALO) was up 12 percent to $8.40. The company's first quarter net loss widened from the year-ago quarter due to its increased investment in clinical trials for PEGPH20 and Hylenex proprietary programs. The company's loss per share and revenues were below Wall Street view. The company noted that it saw advances in both its proprietary programs and partnered programs in the quarter and also reported positive clinical trial results for the use of Hylenex in type 1 diabetes and for HTI-501 in cellulite.

McKesson Corp. (MCK) improved 3 percent to $179.50. The company's fourth quarter adjusted earnings per share and revenues were above Wall Street view. The company forecast adjusted earnings for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015 in line with market view.

Decliners:

Elizabeth Arden, Inc. (RDEN) plunged 16 percent to $29.90. The company's third quarter net loss widened sharply from the year-ago quarter. Net sales decreased 20.3 percent and missed the consensus estimate. Net sales of its North America segment decreased 23 percent primarily due to fewer fragrance launches and lower replenishment orders at a number of non-prestige retail accounts. At the same time, the company explores potential strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value and to accelerate the growth and maximize the value of its brand portfolio.
