Advanced Micro Devices Turns To Profit In Q3 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., or AMD, (AMD), Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $48 million, or $0.06 per share, compared to net loss of $157 million, or $0.21 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Adjusted income for the latest third quarter was $31 million, or $0.04 per share, compared to an adjusted loss of $150 million, or $0.20 per share in the year-ago period. On average, 25 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.02 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues rose to $1.46 billion, from $1.27 billion last year, while 25 analysts expected revenues of $1.42 billion.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, AMD expects revenue revenue to increase 5 percent, plus or minus 3 percent, sequentially.
